Rider's Diagram Books
Since 1990, Dressage Illustrated has served as a United States standard for learning new dressage tests. Riders find the diagrams of the written tests a tremendous aid in visualizing the test and riding it correctly. The diagrams clearly show the gaits and patterns of each movement and the location of the transitions between gaits.
Dressage Illustrated diagram books include the directive ideas for each test to help the rider understand how each movement is judged. All coefficient movements (double points) are shaded for easy identification. The gaits in most tests are in color and have different patterns for each gait. Walk gaits are green dot patterns, trot/jog gaits are blue dash patterns, and canter/lope gaits are red solid lines of different widths. The gaits and patterns new to the tests in a book are explained in each book.
An example of the test text and diagrams for the USEF First Level Test 2 is shown in the Home page footer link Diagram Book Examples.
The books are printed double-sided on a rugged, waterproof, synthetic paper with permanent ink. The books are sturdy and designed to withstand outdoor use and tack box storage.
